With a background and degree in Applied Mathematics, Thomas is always looking for problems to solve. Prior to Smarty, he was an instructor at Brigham Young University for their Competitive Coding class, and worked at Amazon in their FinTech department helping automate monotonous tasks for their accounting team. Interesting fact, Thomas experiences aphantasia meaning he cannot picture things in his mind—it's all data and facts up there. When he's not trying to solve other people's problems, he likes to play pickleball or chess, depending on the weather, and spend time with his wife and child.
