I have checked multiple sources and all my records show that this address is correct. Why then is your system "correcting" the address to a different one.

Original Address:
3500 Chambers Road, McAlester, OK 74501

Validates to:

563 W Chambers Rd McAlester OK 74501-2287

Excellent find. I have been looking for a good example of how the LACSlink system works.

The Locatable Address Conversion System (LACS) was implemented to aid emergency responders (think ambulance and 911 crews) to find physical addresses for mail only addresses. In implementing that system, many streets received new designations and some have been renumbered.

In this case, both addresses resolve to the same location. The original address has probably been there for 50+ years while the "reformed" version of the address is relatively new. This is a perfect example of how an older, or more rural address was transformed to fit into the new addressing system.

Both addresses are perfectly legitimate, though the validated address should be used going forward. It is the recommended address format.
