In order to perform address verification, an address must first be made to conform to the USPS guidelines for addressing. This means that “Street” will be replaced by “ST”, North will change to N, Avenue will be changed to AVE, and many other modifications according to USPS guidelines. Once this is done, the address is “standardized.”

Once standardized, our address verification service will verify the deliverability of the address since a standardized address does not necessarily denote a deliverable address. It is more likely that the address is valid, but to know for sure, you will want to look at the Deliverable column returned by our CASS-Certified Scrubbing service. The addresses marked with a “Y” have had all elements verified as correct.
